disappoint and is full of useful titbits. such as never adding to a losing position. found this book refreshing in its frankness. it is full of value. There is a good amount of the Authors personal history in this book and it makes it easy to relate to him. packed with useful, highly motivating, and great information, without a doubt.
This one, however, definitly has quite a few flaws, and is a pretty short book. This is a very technical topic, but lacks good examples in quite a few spots. some off the top of my head. Why are candlesticks more accurate than daily line charts? than daily line charts. they based off the same high, low, open, and close price data?
not exactly a beginning trader. ve studied for years and read a lot of books. Some of the terminology is new to me and poorly described with no examples. much more difficult to trade larger quantities of money, get good, fast fills, and make higher returns in general? When you trade larger amounts you actually start moving the market, so to speak. Oli emphasizes not trying to pick tops or bottoms and then finishes the same chapter with a quote from one of his favorite fund managers, Paul Tudor, that basically states that Paul spent the last twelve years making money from the tops and bottoms, and missing the meat in the middle.
recommondation of not trying to pick tops and bottoms and to go for the meat in the middle. methods, other than to mention that there are many ways to trade? read that last quote of the chapter and was highly puzzled as to why on earth he put such a contradictory quote to his own trading methods with no deeper explanation as the final point in the chapter. Both this book and the other one I mentioned earlier need some more proofreading.
Oli is generally a clear writer and straight to the point. saying, but there are a good number of typos in both books, but especially this one, which is much smaller. spiel thing that is in both books. building the kingdom of God. Sorry, it just bothers me. time and place for it, and a trading book is not a time and place for it. but it was a bit more acceptable there since this was a book about general life, rather than trading specifically. encompassing as far as life goes, but you know what?
think I have to point out that God also created Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, and many other religions. These people also have kingdoms made by God. God made them too, after all! just find this type of evangelical, ethnocentric, Imperial talk highly offensive. be so intolerant, even though you do have a lot of great information to share besides this.
share your religious beliefs! Other than that, I commend Oli on being a very helpful soul, that is sharing a lot of great information. This book, however, has a lot of things to fix up with more detail, along with the other issues. Keep up the good work, Oli.
ve mentioned here in this review need fixing up. hope you take it as constructive criticism and keep up the good work. recommend this book for everyone who is serious about learning to trade the markets, especially beginners. The author evidently read lots of trading books and is a successful trader, and this book is an excellent summary of top, time tested, true and real trading rules. so that the potential loss is totally acceptable to you, record your trades and analyze them to learn, etc. tested and proven, are profitable!
The only thing is, they may be difficult to trade, due to our psychology. And the author also covers that topic and talk how to handle a series of losses.
